Answer

We are seeing some issues with Library Search (a sector-wide problem with our catalogue system Prism was reported 14/07/2021). We're working to fix this with our third-party suppliers.

If you need to renew your books, please get in touch and we will resolve any issues on your account as soon as possible once the system is fully functional again.

You can still access all the library resources you need by searching our databases directly.

EBSCO discovery service will search across library collections and will bring up links to ebooks, online journals and more to click on.

Go to the list of A-Z list of databases: https://library.sunderland.ac.uk/a-z-databases/ and click on "EBSCO discovery service" log in and begin your search.

Here are some pictures showing how to get the direct link for an ebook.

Go to A-Z list and choose "EBSCO Discovery Service" (or simply click on the links we have added in to this FAQ)

Use this search box instead of Library Search from the main library website to search across library collections:

It will bring up a results page like this:

When you click on the title of the result it will bring up a page like this which shows the direct link to the content

Click on the link and log in using your usual University ID and password and the resource should open online for you to read
