The way you log in to Library resources has changed. You will continue to have access to content included in the Library's subscription, but some providers may not recognise some personal settings or saved content.
Yes. Your access to BP is provided through the Library's subscription when you sign in using your University of Sunderland credentials.
This cannot be confirmed, so we recommend backing up your saved content now using the steps below.
We are temporarily offering the option to log in via both the 'New Library Authentication Service' and the 'Old Library Authentication Service'.

You should be able to access your saved content by choosing the 'Old Library Authentication Service' option and using your University user ID and password.
If you are not seeing the above options, your browser cookies will have stored the last login method you used. You will need to sign out completely, clear your browser cache and cookies, then close and reopen your browser. Start again from Databases A-Z where possible, rather than from a saved bookmark or link. You can also use an incognito or private browser window to access the databases using the old authentication service, if you would prefer not to clear cache and cookies.
1. If you already use BP personal features, sign in now and note the email address or username linked to your account.
2. If you have forgotten your password, reset it to access your saved content.
3. Make a note or screenshot of anything you wish to keep or reproduce. These may include email alerts, alert preferences, saved items, or saved searches.
1. Log out of BP and clear your browser cookies and cache.
2. Access BP through Databases A-Z. Log in using the 'New Library Authentication Service'. Your username will be userID@student.sunderland.ac.uk (for students) or userID@sunderland.ac.uk (for staff).
3. If you have a personal account, sign in and check your saved searches and alerts.
4. If your saved content is not there, check that you have used the correct email address and password to access your personal account. If saved items are missing, you can recreate them from your backup.
Please avoid creating a new BP account with a different email address, as this makes it much less likely that BP will be able to reconnect you to an existing personal profile. If your favourites or dashboard items appear to be missing, please do not assume they have been permanently deleted; they may simply not have linked automatically.
Contact us if important items are missing and you are unable to re-add them. When contacting us, please tell us whether you can still access BP content, whether your favourites or dashboard appear empty, and whether you previously had a BP personal account.
We hope the instructions above are helpful, but please note that we cannot guarantee they will work in every case. They have been prepared to the best of our knowledge, using the information available to us. You should back up, save, or export any personal content wherever possible, in case it needs to be recreated.
