Answer

Library staff do not set assignments on Canvas or manage Turnitin. Please contact the lecturer who set your assignment if you have any questions.

Turnitin compares against a database of active and archived Internet pages, a subscription repository of periodicals, journals, and publications, and a repository of previously submitted assignments. The similarity score is the overall percentage of the text of the submitted assignment that matches other sources. It is important to note that it is not an assessment of whether the paper includes plagiarised material. Your lecturer will use the report to easily find text similarities within submitted work and they will then use their professional expertise to determine if the text has been plagiarised.

You can view your report within your module assignment space in Canvas.
