The Library subscribes to many e-resources, from e-books to journals to market research databases. We use Shibboleth to log in to these sites. If you are taken to an external site and need to log in you should look for one of the following then log in using your University user ID and password:
• Institutional login
• Academic login
• Shibboleth login
Example 1 - VLeBooks
If you are asked to log into VLeBooks directly, you should choose 'Shibboleth' under 'Sign in below':
Look for the University of Sunderland in the list of all institutions and log in with your University user ID and password.
Example 2 - ScienceDirect database
On ScienceDirect, you should expand the 'Sign in' link and choose 'Other institution login':
Search for the University of Sunderland and click 'Login':
Log in with your University user ID and password.
Example 3 - Taylor & Francis database
On Taylor & Francis, you should click 'Sign in' and choose 'Sign in via Shibboleth':
Search or browse for the University of Sunderland:
Log in with your University user ID and password.
Example 4 - Box of Broadcasts
On the Box of Broadcasts homepage, click 'Sign In':
Type 'University of Sunderland' into the search box, select the result, then click 'GO':
Log in with your University user ID and password.
Example 5 - Cite Them Right
On the Cite Them Right homepage, click 'Login':

Select the University of Sunderland in the organisations list, then log in with your University user ID and password.
Example 6 - IEEE Xplore Journals
On the IEEE homepage, click 'Institutional Sign In':
Click 'Shibboleth' then find the University of Sunderland from the list of institutions:
Log in with your University user ID and password.
