Answer

The Library subscribes to e-resources under specific license agreements with publishers. These agreements prohibit the downloading and re-uploading of content to third-party platforms, including Academia.edu, ResearchGate, and even Canvas, the University's VLE. Sharing these materials in an unauthorised manner may be a violation of the terms of use agreed to by the Library.

If you are an academic member of staff and you would like to share Library resources, such as digital articles or chapters, with your students, please add them to your Library Reading Lists. This will then link to our library management system so your students can access the material in an authorised way. This is important to help us comply with our e-resource licensing requirements and to curate a complete and centralised list of expected reading for each module in one place. Please do not upload digital content, such as PDF files of articles or chapters, directly to Canvas.

For further guidance on developing your reading lists, please speak with your Academic Liaison Librarian or read our library guide.
