At certain times of year, when the Library team are not available, you may be directed to our chatbot when you start a live chat. Our chatbot, staffed by our mascots Murr and Pete, will guide you through search options, assist with finding common FAQs and general information, and hand you over to a global co-op operator when needed.
AI does not power our chatbot. Our chatbot is a rule-based, decision-tree-style answering engine. We have designed the conversation flow, chosen the language and tone, controlled the resources shared, and created an experience that reflects our Library’s voice and services.
Who are Murr and Pete?
Murr and Pete are our Library's mascots. You may have seen them on our social channels.

They are named after two of our spaces, Library at Murray and St Peter's Library.
